Megali Ammos Area and Megali Ammos Beach are just outside Skiathos Town, only a 5-10 minutes walk from the main pedestrian street Papadiamantis Street.
The beach is very long and sandy and that’s where its name came frome meaning “Long Sand”. The water is clear and the view of Tsougrias islands is great as well as Skiathos Town back side.
Megali Ammos Area and Ftelia have many supermarkets and bars as well as many tavernas right on the beach. A great restaurant of the area is sitting by the pool of Villa Alexis, the Phoenix Restaurant of Skiathos.
